a word of advice

bfore i had started working(for a pay ie).. i used to get a number of advices from my elders and seniors regarding the to-do-s and not-to-do-s of professional life... well most of them were very motivating...and very very fascinating indeed...like.."work hard and u will rise"..."there's no shortcut to glory and success"... "actions have more impact than mere words" ..etc etc... well i am sure those gud ol chaps didnt mean to do ne harm to me.... at least i hope so...but lemme tell ya sumthin...it was just bcoz of those out-of-the-test-book gyans that i am so very much disappointed and disillusioned with my job now....
